Hi, Arthur!
I'm not sure where you go to obtain the GA process server licensing requirements.
In the meantime, I noticed that you've been here for a while, but haven't gotten around to posting your introduction. This is a very important step in the process as it will give agencies a chance to learn about you and your background.

Thanks for all the great info for Georgia. Sometimes it's hard to find 'just' the thing you are looking for when you need it.
Keep up the good work and have a great day.
Hello,
I emailed Georgia last month for information regarding their license laws for Process Server Licensing and CCW reciprocity with NY. Although CCW reciprocity is not the question, I have posted the entire reply. This is the reply I received from the State of Georgia.
From: "Lindsey, Bobby" bslindsey@sos.state.ga.us
To: "Michael B. Hinze" mbhinze@fultonny.net
"Good afternoon:
There are no licensing requirements for process serving in Georgia. The Private Detective & Security Agencies Board does not issue weapon permits to private citizens. This is a function of the Probate Court in the county in which you will reside. The Board only issues permits to employees of private detective &/or security companies for use on their post."
Thanks so much Michael. I was 95% sure that there was NOT a license for Georgia but I really wanted to hear it from someone else. I like to be sure about things like that before I act.
Thanks again.
Have a great day.
Sorry it took so long to reply.
No problem at all, happy to help. I wish you the best of luck!
I just spoke to a friend who is a Public Defender for Fulton County in Georgia and he said the qualifications for process serving was changed July 1, 2005. He will be calling me this week. I will be posting this information on all Georgia related threads.
arthur,
There are no licensing requirements required in the state of Georgia. However, for you to be an Process Server in the ste of Georgia, you must be appointed as a court-appointed officer , Process Server or Permanent Process Server. This petition must be filed with the superior Chief Judge in the county you reside in. See O.C.G.A. 9-11-4 for Civil Process. Not everbody will get appointed or approved by the chief Judge. I hope this help you in research. The documents allowed to be served are summons and complaints. As for subpoena both federal or witness, requirements are you must be us citizen, 18years or older, resident of the county.
I have some additional information for Cobb County Georgia Permanent Process Server. Good Luck everyone.
