    Hello Michelle

This type wrist watch sound like a good idea with many possiblies. I have just receive my training manuals and started reading materials. I am a commission security officer in Texas. I have been in Private Security over 2 years. Information in the manuals is the same in my line of work. There is new tips in private investigation. So interesting that I found a new line of work.

I can't wait to get started on assignments.

    Wrist Band

This band is pretty pricy, but I think that it would be well worth it. I have a 9 year old son that absolutely has to be out and about every day. He is always with his other little friends, but you never know what could happen, even with a bunch of other kids around. I think that the peace of mind that you would have is wirth the price!

    Wink wrist band

how pricy was pricy? and do you think your son would wear it ? I know when my son was younger he would always take his coat off out side when playing and ended up without a coat cause he forgot to bring home (I bought 3 coats in just 1 winter one year)

This seems like a good idea for keeping track of children. Getting them to wear it in its presant form seems like a problem though. And as for undercover it is to odvious, for my tastes anyway. They will make them smaller, and probebly less expencive in the future. That is the usual trend with electronics.

    I agree Ray,
I think that the unit should be smaller and I am sure with time (just like everything else), they will make them smaller and less expensive.

Hmm this is helpful in some way!

Especially for someplace like a day care center or a school going on a class trip. Maybe a certain state would purchase this device and soon it would be the "de facto" within the US and other places.

    GPS Implant

I've been searching the net for GPS implants and unfortunately I have not been able to find any that are approved for use here in the U.S. . I do think the braclets/necklaces are a great idea but they can be removed. I wear one when I'm out hiking/skiing/etc just in case something should happen but I'm concerned about my pets and would like an implant rather than the collar currently available. Has anyone seen a site that offers implants not approved for "human" use but okay for pets?

Sorry I just went to the info (web) and saw the wrist band locator, it does look like a kids watch, and the cost...is expensive if you have to buy for all your kids, including your self...maybe it will come down, like all other gadgeds...

The GPS Personal Locator sounds like a great device and has nearly unlimited potential as technological advances occur. Locator chips could be inserted into cell phones, vehicles, pets, humans, etc. I wish they had these when my children were young, I would have bought several in spite of the cost. As they become more widely available and have been on the market a while, the prices should come down considerably. GPS is one of the best technologies to emerge recently.

    Thumbs up

WOW!. Now I know I am an overprotective parent, If I could afford to buy three of them, I would. You would think that evey parent would want one now a days.
    Thanks for sharing the link.

I read the details of this watch and it has a special lock feature that prevents anybody (including wearer) to take it off. It can only be removed by code or remote. Just thought I would mention it to a few who think that it would be easy to remove.

Like any other technical solution (new or older one) this device has its advantages and negative aspects. The Forum provides an excellent stage for debating the case. After reading the comments posted on the topic I can hardly image that there are many other possible concerns. I think that everyone could choose the best option with his/her judgement by reviewing the posts.

Thats right they come off easily

This device would sound good to someone who has never had their child kidnapped, but they can be removed. Take it from someone who knows, my children were kidnapped by their mother. It took me three months to track them down, but I finally found them in Georgia, hundreds of miles away. They are home with daddy again safe and sound, so save your money.

Not only is this a good idea for children but for the elderly as well. It would be ideal for someone who suffers from Alzheimer's disease.

As a new parent I think this is a good idea. One of my biggest fears is losing my daughter. Right now she's too small for it, but I'm going tostart looking onto something like that only affordable. Thanks for the good information.

I don't know if it is leagal or not, but you could use it it to track down more than just childeren. the old homing device mounted to their car's undercairage trick might be handy. you wouldn't have to follow your suspects then.

Bought for of the GPS Locater watches and used (or attempted too) them for EP contract in NYC. Do NOT waste your money. Battery power is very low, no length of time. Tracking utilizing the CDMA/TDMA Cell technology is unreliable and loction and GPS fixes do not work in Urban environment. If you want any more answers or feed back feel free to contact me.

    Hi all!

I bookmarked the links Brenda posted above. I think these are at least worth a try. They must come with some sort of warranty. I plan on researching the information a little more before deciding to purchase.

I don't know what to think about this. I am a little skeptical. What if a third party gets a hold of this information and they too know where you kids are at all times?

Not possible. There is a unique ESN (electronic serial number) similar to cll phones assigned to each watch.
