Arrow My story - I owe IPIU a debt that is endless

i moved to Florida after 26 yrs of being married two times, raising kids.....i moved here because of an abusive man, i had no idea where i was going to live or what work i would do, i took classes & got licensed as security and did armed escort work.

6 months here i was rear ended and was laid off from both companies i had worked for.

i found the Private Investigators Forum and the International Private Investigators Union IPIU web site and started with this. through what i have learned and the forums, i am not looking to open my own agency here in Florida soon.

i owe ipiu a debt that is endless... they gave me direction in my life. thank you, IPIU.

    Goldie,

Your post serves as a reminder that through all the roadblocks and personal tragedy we experience in our lives, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Through persistence and the goal you have set for yourself, and by working toward that goal you will reach success, perhaps at a level much higher than you might have ever imagined possible.

I commend you for your strength and the person you are.

I would highly recommend that you attend the IPIU National Conference in California. We would love to meet you and shake your hand and yes, even a hug!

Goldie Hi You and your Family are in my prayers. I currently work as a security officer and I don't know how to get a PI agnecy to hire me. I am trying to get the money together to fully join the union and get my badge. But as you know a security officer does not make much here in Florida. Got any Ideas or an agncy I cna contact to get the ball rolling?

Hi Goldie, congratulations on you new career. I hope the best for you and I wish you all the luck. I do have a guestion. As a fello Licensed Armed Guard, How did you find jobs in your city? Where I'm from it's very hard to get a job doing Armed Security. At Times I feel like, I paid the money and took the classes for nothing. I guess it pays to know someone in this type of business.

Martain, when one recieves an education... it is NEVER a Waste.... we learn things daily , oft times it is things that we will not use at the time , but down the road we will be thankful for the education...
remember.... we never stop learning till we pass this earth.
& besides, doctors have stated that people who study & learn something new each day, stay younger, healthier, and less likely to suffer from elder illnesses.....

    Hi Cheryl,
No, not level 4 yet. I am still a newbie eagerly awaiting my first manual, photo credential, fingerprint card, etc. It seems to be taking a long time to get to me, but I finally got reassurance that the packet is in the mail as I type this. But keep an eye out for me to join you in a little while! Save a seat for me!

    Goldie,
I have been reading your messages and You are truly an inspiration. I'm new to the IPIU and you have given me a lot of encouragement. We just recently moved from the Daytona Beach area up to Georgia, it is too bad I never bumped into you while I was there.
