At this time there is no P.I. Licensing requirements on statewide level in Alaska. Except in individual cities where they may or may not have a city PI License, the only License a P.I. needs in Alaska is a State Business License, such as what Alabama has.

Fairbanks Requirements:
Applicants for a private detective agency license must provide a copy of their State of Alaska business license and their present and previous occupations as well as the names and addresses of their present and former employers. Applicants must also provide a list of employees to the Chief of Police, specifying their names, addresses, dates of birth, and social security numbers. The applicant must also possess the qualifications for private detective as listed below. Employees of the agency, private detectives, must be at least 18 years of age; not be addicted to narcotics, dangerous drugs, or intoxicants; not have been convicted of a felony within the previous two years, or a misdemeanor within one year, involving assault or dangerous weapons; and have not been convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude, assault with a dangerous weapon, traffic in narcotics or dangerous drugs, or traffic in women for immoral purposes within ten years.

Anchorage Requirements:
Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, of good moral character, and have never been convicted of any felony or crime of moral turpitude. Applications must be accompanied by a surety bond, a copy of applicants State of Alaska business license, a copy of applicants driver's license, current driving record and criminal background report. The applicant will need to provide a criminal history from each state of residency. The Alaska report must be dated the same date that the application is submitted.
