"For process serving license here in NV, here is a brief sketch of the
requirements as I recall them.

2 years or 4000 hours verified in the field by another licensee, attorney etc.
$50.00 to get the application packet.
$750.00 and up for your background check
$35.00 fingerprinting by local police dept.
$100.00 for a written examination which consists of about 20 essay type
questions for the process server test.

Then when all this is done you appear before a public hearing with the P.I.
Board and they ask you a few questions and then vote on your license at that
time. There are the usual, no felonies or crimes of moral turpitude in your
past, somewhat of a stable financial history, not delinquent in Child Support
payments etc. It's fairly arbitrary in my opinion, but I realize you are
only interested in the facts as they appear in statute. We only serve Civil
documents, no criminal, warrants etc. process server and investigator
license are separate procedures.

Then your license fee is $360.00 per year.
