Question Quick question on control numbers

I have seen Bounty Hunter ID cards that have a control number at the botom. What is that & what is it for? I don't mean to sound ignorant, just curious.

    Thanks.

A control number is the number used by the issuing orgranization. However, if the control number on the ID card you saw is the same control number on all other ID cards used by that organization, then it may be useless. IPIU's photo credentials use personal numbers and items on both sides of the ID card to track and verifiy. In other words, any number that only appears on an individual ID card means it can be tracked (like a driver's license number)

Thanks a lot. I don't feel quite so uninformed anymore. Again, thank you for getting back to me on this.
