    Private Investigator license

    Hello,
    I have a question.
    Do you really need to have a Private Investigator license to investigate a case for a family member?

    No, unless you advertise yourself as a licensed private investigator. Anyone can "investigate" anything is the general rule, as long as you do not purport yourself as being a licensed PI (which permits you to advertise).
