    Free Pencils.

A five-cent pencil gets the government $1.00 in taxes. What a deal for promoting pencils.

The tax starts on the land where the tree is grown, then more tax on the purchase of tree seed, tax the worker's wages for planting and cutting, tax the truck that picks delivers the tree to the lumber yard, tax the truck's gasoline; tax the lumber mill land, mill workers, and fuel to run the mill; tax those little pencils all the way up the tax-chain to where little Johnny uses his five-cent pencil on a half-cent piece of paper - and then tax little Johnny the rest of his life from all that he learned.

WHAT A GREAT COUNTRY we have! (I think they ought to give the pencils away for "free").

Sounds like it's much more than $1.00 that the goverment is making on one pencil. Hate to see what a #2 pencil is worth to the government.
