Hello everyone

I came across some jerk from South America on a blog where he tried to invent false rumors about IPIU.

In part, here is what he claimed:

"There are many so-called unions, purporting to be full fledged organizations that have been instituted as private investigators unions."

That is totally untrue. There has never been a previous private investigators union. IPIU was founded in 1989 as the International Private Investigators Union, and no other non-labor union for PI's exist.

"The IPIU (International Private Investigators Union) is one such association that focuses on helping investigators carry out their jobs in as professional a way as possible. Most people who went on to the IPIU website were initially impressed by the offers made. People were assured that they would be guided by some of the best professionals in the field of investigation.

This has been true since IPIU was founded. there are tens of thousands of members are this site who attest to this every day.

"The whole scenario has since changed; people are now aware that the IPIU does not really want to help any wannabe private investigators. On the other hand, they are just another fraudulent organization, out to make a quick buck."

What in the world is this jerk talking about! The International Private Investigators Union is the only PI organization that is an accredited member of the Better Business Burrau and has the highest A+ rating to be awarded. There is no such thing as a "quick buck" for IPIU, because they are primarily supported by annual membership dues. This guy from South America may be better off going back to his drug dealer buddies and determine what planet he comes from. I looked up his name on the IPIU membership list, and he is no where to be found! I was hoping he had been a member at one time, so I could report his violation to his signed Oath and Code of Ethics. But apparently he resides in a country where they have no oath.

"It would certainly be a good opportunity for a one to be a member of a well-managed private investigators union. He would be able to interact with people who are in the same profession as he is. He would be able to share information on the availability of jobs and the current rate of remuneration that is being paid to people like him. He would also be in a position to demand a high fee for the services that he renders, if he knows what the rates are for particular investigating jobs that are being done. Sharing of knowledge is probably the most important and beneficial aspect of being a member of a union. There is a lot of information about clients and the latest trends in investigative practices that need to be discussed with others. There have been instances wherein difficult cases have been solved merely because of the sharing of knowledge about methodologies. When you are talking about legal issues, there is no doubt that you need to know the actual laws that are prevalent in the state to be able to apply the same."

What did he do, copy and paste this from a brochure?

"Most investigators who wish to join a union need to give a lot of details about themselves. To begin with, their personal lives will have to be laid threadbare to the organization. They need to also give details of their past experiences and all the details about the moneys they have charged their clients in the recent and distant past"

Totally untrue about IPIU. All that is required is a drivers license to verify you are not a child, and a state PI License if you are already a licensed professional. That's it!

"Most unions also ask for an undertaking that forces them to share a sizable amount of the money. The union expects them to pay this as a kind of subscription fee or membership fee."

Insane. IPIU does not require any sharing of a member's earnings.

"It is therefore necessary to check the credentials of a union before one actually signs up."

Go for it! Check out the following link:

http://www.ipiu.org/forums/forumdisp...IMONIALS-FORUM

In the above link, IPIU requires that every member who posts are required to use their real first and last name and real location. There are tens of thousands.

And you can go to www.bbb.org and see for yourself that the International Private Investigators Union is the ONLY organization who is an ACCREDITED MEMBER OF THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU with a n A+ rating.

So who is this "Francisco Segura" who claims to own the "Private Investigators Center". Answer: He doe not exist, and this only proves that anyone can post a phony web article under a phony name and claim to be a know-it-all.

Thanks IPIU
