If you wish to check on your active posting history (or any other forum member's name) since you joined the Private Investigators Forums, here are the instructions:

SETUP YOUR PERSONAL
SEARCH PAGE
  1. Make sure you are LOGGED IN with your assigned User Name and Password.

  2. Click once on the SEARCH option which appears on the tool bar near the top of any forum page.

  3. Once you click on the Search, a drop down will appear. Click on the option titled Advanced Search. Or, Click Here

  4. Look for the phrase "Show Results as" in the left lower section of the Advanced Search Page.

  5. Change the choice to "Posts" instead of "Threads"

  6. Look for the phrase "Save Search Preferences" near the lower center area of the page, and click the "GO" button once.

  7. (From now on your Search Preferenceces will show all of the search results by Posts instead of Threads. This is useful because you may have posted a comment in a very long topic thread which has multiple topic pages. To save time looking for your post, this feature will allow you to find it immediately)

DETERMINE YOUR PRESENT
LEVEL 1 TO LEVEL 4 ACCESS

Before you search for your posts in all of the Level 1 through Level 4 forums, you must first determine what your current Level Access is today. You may have had previous Level 4 Access before your union membership expired, or you may still have Level 4 Access.

To determine if you have higher access than Level 1, click on the following test links and see if you can read the test topic. If you get a Log-In Screen, go ahead and attempt to log in with your assigned User Name and Password once or twice.

Note: Do NOT attempt to log in more than three (3) times in a row on any single link. Otherwise, your password will be suspended automatically for 15 minutes before you can log in again.

PERFORM YOUR SEARCH
OF ALL POSTS
BASED ON YOUR CURRENT ACCESS LEVEL

Once you know your current access level, you can now perform a search of all posts from Level 1 posts to as high as your current Level Access is.

  • Example 1: If you have Level 4 access, then you can search for all posts in the Level 1, 2, 3, and 4 forums.

  • Example 2: If you have Level 3 access , then you can search for all posts in the Level 1, 2, and 3 forums - but you will not see any post results in the Level 4 forums.

TO START YOUR PERSONAL SEARCH:
  1. In the Advanced Search Page, type your assigned User Name in the upper right box titled "User Name"

  2. Click the button titled Search Now

  3. The results page will load, with the most recent post results starting at the top.

  4. You will see a Preview of the comments you authored in each of the results listed.

  5. Click on the small underlined link in a result to be taken right to your comment. Or, click on the big bold title link of the topic thread to be taken to Page 1 of the topic.

  6. If your results are into the hundreds or thousands, you can limit your search to a particular forum. To do so, go to the Advanced Search page again, type in the User Name, and look for the phrase titled "Search in Forums". You will see the default is "Search All Open Forums". You can change this by scrolling down the forum list and clicking to highlight a single forum. Then perform your search, and your results will be limited to the forum you chose.
