Infractions: A New Feature for our forum software

Infractions: A New Feature for our forum software.

Because our Private Investigators Forum has one of the best ratings in the world, we rarely see any members who violate the Forum Rules. They may at times commit infractions, but seldom do their mistakes arise to the level of violation. It is for this reason we have chosen not to use the Infraction Tool for members. Instead, we prefer a one-on-one correction between the Moderators and the members when the rules get overlooked by our members.

Our forum software is used by over 3-million other websites worldwide. Most of the other forums who allow anyone to register under phony names and with little accountability have experienced a free-for-all abuse between their own members. For this reason the Infraction System was upgraded in the latest version of the forum software. Fortunately, it was not developed for a forum such as ours - whose members register using their real names, drivers license, and real locations. It seems when folks have to write and author under their real name, they take a second look at what they will be accountable for before posting. Our members have voted overwhelming for the manner and policies we have implemented.

We also have the strongest and most defined Oath, Code of Ethics, Morals Clause, & Forum Rules for any forum of this type.

Hmmm.........In addition to the infractions feature, there have been a lot of changes to the vbulletin manual since I printed it out a few years ago.

Re: Infractions: A New Feature for our forum software

Thank you guy's for all the in depth information.
Just now when I clicked on the bottom hyperlink, it sent me to Vbulletin Manual, as it should have. I am using chrome as my browser for today's journey, and noticed that when the page opens for VB, the https is crossed out in red.
This maybe an incompatibility issue with chrome, as I have posted that in another forum, or the certificate has expired.
This is just a heads up.

    Also,
    I could not access http://www.ipiu.org/forums/showthread.php?t=28109
it tells me I do not have permission.
    Thanks,
    Stephen

I have removed the link, because it was archived some time ago when the Morals Clause was added to the current version of the Oath and Code of Ethics.

    David,
Thank you for responding, I know it had originally been posted some time ago but one never knows.
