I put in a request for some help to the other moderators and hopefully they will be along shortly Nick. I told them it was a serious matter if they could hurry.

Re: who to contact in canada about a skip

There is no commercial bail in Canada. Therefore, no bail enforcement is allowed. (It is an insult to refer to a bail enforcement agent as a bounty hunter)

What is needed is a triple sealed warrant. The 1st part is the warrant issued by the wanting jurisdiction, the second when the local state's attorney requests a federal warrant (bringing DEA, FBI or Marshalls)and the second part of the triple sealed warrant. The third sealed warrant is when our Federal Agency that is involved in the case requests that a warrant be issued in the country where the fugitive is located. The locals execute the warrant and detain the fugitive for formal extradition back to the wanting country. This becomes an issue when the fugitive is facing the death penalty, as our two neighbors do not believe in it and may fight extradition.

    Hope this helps,

    Scott

In re-reading the original question to this thread, a local investigator can do the ground work to locate the individual, but it is wiser to get all of the ducks in a row first. Too much activity by a stranger in close proximity to a wanted fugitive can cause them to go deeper.

Thank you Rupert for the information. that's a lot of paper to just get a fugitive in Canada. it sounds like it will take a lot of time to go through that process and get the Fugitive returned to the U.S.A. . the person is not wanted for murder, he's wanted for terrorist threats. I will let you know how it will all come out as soon as every thing is settled. Thank you again.
