"Tools" of the trade - Get Certified

There are several "tools" you can carry while performing duties as a Fugitive Recovery Agent (Bounty Hunter). Make sure you are certified to carry these so that you will be covered legally in case of a lawsuit.

In Delaware and surrounding states, the tools and required certifications are: OC spray (Pepper Spray), MEB (Monadnock Expandable Baton), PATH (Practical And Tactical Handcuffing) and Open Carry Permit (Gun). You do not have to carry any of these tools, however, I wouldn't recommend going after someone without at least a few of these tools.

We offer much more in our classes than is actually required by the certification courses standards.

There are also additional classes you can take that are given by successful agents and instructors at our facility. These include basic and advanced classes: Success in Bail Enforcement, Self Defense, Tactical Operations, Team Operations, etc.

The link works but seems "crippled". Not much info. Is it still in buisness?
    Thanks,

Yes, we're still in business. We are looking for someone to update and revamp our website.

Scott, are you a licensed agent in Texas? It's best if you have some training and a team. You should NOT do fugitive recovery alone. Some agencies have teams and will help you get started by letting you go out on a couple "runs" to get some experience and see how you operate.

There are several ways to get started:
    1) Go to a bail bondsman and work out a deal on percentage for recovering wanted persons and they will provide you files. If you are freelancing - we suggest you NOT sign with only one bail bondsman, this limits your workload/capacity. They may not be able to keep you busy enough.
    2) Search the internet for wanted persons - find out who holds their "paper", work out percentage, go find them.
    3) Most police departments have wanted persons listed on their websites. Some state "pedophile" sites have additional information on pedophiles and in some states list if they are wanted.
    4) Learn to use skip trace software - available for purchase online.
    5) Know the laws of each state you go into for recovery. Some states do not allow fugitive recovery by outside agents and some don't allow recovery at all.
