If I'm not mistaken Federal Anti-Piracy assignments, just as mystery shopping assignments, are non-regulated activities and do not require a license.

    William,

My memory (which is far from perfect) tells me that I read that mystery shopping is limited to licensed PIs in one of the western states. I will have to research it to confirm. I know that it sounds silly, but the laws in the US are often silly.

    William,

I was right. Here is the first link I found.

    http://www.nationalshoppingservice.c...pping_laws.asp

    3. Special Regulatory Statutes in Place for All Mystery Shops Performed in the State of Nevada
The state of Nevada mandates a Nevada Licensed Private Investigator or their qualified and documented employee perform ALL mystery shops in the state. National Shopping Service is compliant with Nevada laws and statutes.

Because of the above-mentioned state requirement, there may be special supplemental fees associated with each mystery shop performed in Nevada. These supplemental fees are in addition to the National Shopping Service per shop fee. These supplemental fees are dependent on the project size and complexity and may vary.

The Nevada statues can be found:

IPIU Members who reside in Nevada can work piracy and mystery shopping assignments through a licensed PI Agency in Nevada. Anyone who resides in Nevada and is a IPIU Member in Good Standing can inquire at the following link:

Re: Welcome to our new Level 4 Discussions: Rules

Last week another one of our PI Trainees earned $1000.00 in 3 hours. He and his wife were excited for both the money and the experience.

Re: Trainee earns over $2500.00 for 3 hours of Piracy work

    Hello,

I have read a lot of cases where people make decent earnings. Then I read this one. Not to say this gets me extra motivated, but it shows me that hard work pays off a little extra sometimes. Congrats on the case.
