What has happened to our Christmas?
From news across America:
- "Toys for Tots reported on Friday, December 22nd, two days before Christmas Eve, they were DOWN 60% in Toys for under-privileged children! The cause? Few people are giving!
- "Toys for Tots has been shut down in selected areas across America because of lawsuits against the promotion of "Christmas" toys.
"Kenneth Mott, who keeps a long, white beard, almost lost his job after a parent called the bus management to complain. Mott, who has worn the red and white hat every Christmas since he started with the Bauman & Sons bus company five years ago, was ordered to stop wearing the hat because a child didn't believe in Santa Claus and was bothered by the hat. "I said, 'What, are you kidding me?'" Mott recalled. "I thought it was a big joke."
"Every holiday season for 25 years there were Christmas trees at the airport serving Seattle. But one complaint accompanied by the threat of legal action was enough to get them removed. Officials at Sea Tac Airport say a rabbi with the Central Organization for Jewish Learning calls them offensive. He hired a lawyer and threatened to sue. An airport spokeswoman says the two sides couldn't reach an agreement before the suit was to be filed. So all 15 trees were removed.
- "Commercial businesses across the country, including MACY'S DEPARTMENT STORE in New York City (where the famous Christmas movie "Miracle on 34th Street" was filmed) have REMOVED their "Merry Christmas" signage and have replaced it with "Holiday Greetings".
