Yes, the eastern portion of Montana is known for it's cold winters. But the IPIU office is located in Western Montana, on the the western slopes of the Rocky Mountains where the winter snows are known as the "Christmas Snows", gentle and mild.

Also, Western Montana is not as humid or as wet as the larger eastern cities, such as Chicago, New York. The damp and wind chills are nothing in Bigfork, Montana as they are in other cities.

In 1970 I took a month off after my 3 year enlistment in the Army and 15 months in Nam. I, and several of my buddies purchased Harley's in Fayetteville, NC (Fort Bragg) and rode up to Bountiful, Utah and into Montana. That was a real experience not to mention the beauty of the lakes and rivers I saw in Montana. Everyone must take some time and visit Montana. Breathtaking!!! As they say, That, is GODS country!

    Hello Jim,

Yes, these positions are still available. And I think the new openings will be posted after the New Year holiday.

As for telecommuting, IPIU has in the past employed some staff who did not move to Montana when their skills, talents, and honesty proved to offer the telecommute.

On the other hand, telecommuter applicants will probably take a second place behind other similar qualified staff who are willing to relocate:

Because Montana's cost of living is lower than many states, the ideal candidate would be interested in a long term commitment to both career, resort living, and potential marketing of products and services.
When you are working in a very active and creative office environment where ideas and concepts flow easily, sometimes that benefit alone is worth the choice over working at home on a computer.

Still, it's worth applying for even if you do not wish to relocate.

Re: WORK FOR the International Private Investigators Union!

That's okay, folks. Keep thinking Montana is frigid colder than where you are in the winter. We like that. Keeps new homesteaders out and keeps our state population down to under a million, which also keeps our state budget (one of the few these days) in the black , unlike most other states who are near bankruptcy.

Now, for a factual tidbit on weather: I was born and raised around the Southern California beaches. I too saw Montana tempertures on the weather channel before I considered moving here. I thought how in the world can I go from a nice 80 degrees on the beach to a frigid 60 degrees in April or May??

The answer has to do with humidity and other factors. 57 degrees on the beach in Southern California is FRIGID. But 57 degrees in Montana is BEAUTIFUL dry weather. The same holds true for winter, which is 28-35 degrees in Lakeside, Montana - which feels the same as that frigid winter beach temperatur in the 50's.

Western Montana is like a Christmas snow and easier then Eastern Montana where the winds can kick up.

But again, just stay where you are. Never visit us, and never find out for yourself.

    All my best,

    Robert

Are there any medical clinics, hospitals, or medical centers in Big Fork, MT?

    I love cold weather!!!

Besides private investigative work, I used to work for Hitachi Computers in Norman, OK as a certified computer technician. I built and fixed main frame computers.

Kalispell is the county seat for Bigfork and Lakeside. About a 20 minute drive where:

Kalispell Regional Medical Center (KRMC) is located.

KRMC also owns and operates several other large enterprises on the same massive acreage:

Branch clinics are in Lakeside and Bigfork
