NEW SPELLCHECK for all of your Posts & Topics!

We now have a free spell-check built into your forum posts and message boxes.

    Here is what you do:
    1. Choose either to author a New Thread or Post a Reply to an existing Topic/Thread.

    2. In the MESSAGE BOX type your message.

    3. Then look on the Message Box Tool-bar in the upper right side for a button titled ABC with a check mark and CLICK on it.

      It looks like this:

    4. You will then get a Pop-Up box that says the following:
ieSpell is a spell-checking tool for Internet Explorer.

If you would like to download ieSpell, click OK; otherwise click Cancel

ieSpell can also be downloaded from www.iespell.com
    5. If you want to download the free spell-check, then click OK. We strongly suggest you SAVE the download to your computer instead of just running it. Once it is saved, then double-click on the saved file to run the application.

    6. Once the ieSpell in loaded on your PC, then every time you author a Message in the Message Box, you can click on the ABC spell-check button to spell check your message before you post it!

    7. Always PREVIEW your message before Submitting it. Just because your words may be spell checked, you may have chosen the wrong word in your post.

    8. Do NOT use the Quick Reply if you are expecting to use the Preview Feature. The full Message Box has all of the tools available to you.

I have been using this free item for two weeks and have enjoyed it very much. I also use WORD as a means to spell-check my messages too.

    Good luck to everyone,

    Robert

Once again Proof is in the reading! I have posted a few times only to later see I typed with my toes instead of my fingers Although disappointed in my not proofreading what I type and too quickly hitting 'reply' I now preview post but I can't seem to find the added spell checking enhancement as an added plus. Is there a button in the 'CP' panel that you can turn this feature on?
    Thank You!

Did you download the free spellcheck from www.iespell.com ?

(I noticed in some of your recent post there are typos)

I meant to come back in here to ask about that.

When I click the spell check, it gives me about 5 or 6 ortions for download.
Which download am I looking for?

I downloaded the first option, but it didn't work.

No, John. You just need to download the software from one of the sites, not all five.

Once you the download is complete, your forum spellcheck should be ready to use instantly (Remember, it only works if you are using Internet Explorer as your web browser. If you are using Firefox or something else, it will not work)

To test it out, click on a Post Reply button in a topic, then type a message in the Message Box, and then click on the spell check button that looks like this:

The spellcheck button is in the upper right side that has a small title of ABC.

Re: NEW SPELLCHECK for all of your Posts & Topics!

I downloaded the first option, and tried the spell check. It led me back to the site.

Of the five options, I choose one?

    Any particular one?

For verification, here is the site I'm led to. The five options I'd refered to are on the page that first pops up.
    I do use Internet Explorer.

Sorry to be a pain Mr. Copeland,
You seem to find me when I'm having the most trouble.
    Your help is very appriciated.

What version of Internet Explorer are you using? If you do not know, go to your IE tool bar and click on Help, and then choose About Internet Explorer.

Re: NEW SPELLCHECK for all of your Posts & Topics!

Thanks again for your help Mr. Copeland...

Help is not offered on my IE toolbar.

If it helps, I bought this laptop in January. It is wi-fi equiped, and runs the latest version of Vista.

I access the internet through my wi-fi connection, to an unsecured network.
I log onto the internet by clicking an "e" logo.

If I have to, I'll prepare my messages using open office w/spell check, then paste it for posting.

    1) You only need to download one, not all five. Mirror sites are just duplicate sites that have the same software.

    2) I suggest you choose to download again by "saving" the download file and not choosing to "run" it. That way you have a full saved copy of the software on your PC hard-drive.

When the download box opens up, you will see the option to Run it or Save it. Choose the save, and save it someplace where you can go and find it after the download is completed.

    3) Once the download is complete, then return to where you saved the file and then double-click on it to Run it.

Were you able to save the software to your desktop? Is it working for you now?
