    MEET THE FOUNDER
Ed Ciriello, Intelligence Agent, Private Investigator, and Founder

Welcome to the exciting and rewarding world of the private investigator. You are about to enter an incredible new world. A world of challenge, satisfaction and prestige. There is nothing available anywhere at any price to equal what you are about to learn from our correspondence school. Read this information carefully. It will change your life.

    Meet Your Instructor:
Ed Ciriello's long, illustrious career has spanned over 50 years as a private investigator and intelligence agent. Known as the "Dean of Detectives", he is the most respected leading instructor in the country today.

As Founder and President of the Global School of Investigations correspondence school, he has made his knowledge and expertise available to you. Ed will be your personal mentor while you learn everything you need to be a private investigator.

Ed took his first course in "how to become a detective" at age 14, from a correspondence school.

At age 16, in 1951, he joined the US Army Security Agency, where he conducted his first undercover investigation during basic training.

After his discharge, he enlisted in the US Navy as an agent of the Office of Naval Intelligence, serving with distinction in Korea, Cuba and Italy.

After leaving the US Navy he began his private investigator career in New York City.

By 1957 he was in Chicago, Illinois working for the Pinkerton's National Detective Agency, rising quickly from undercover agent to assistant manager. He was still under contract to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) which led to his return to that service in Vietnam, in 1965.

Six years later, under a VC death threat he escaped from Saigon and surfaced in Iran as an intelligence advisor and instructor to the Shah's secret police.

In 1973 he wrote his now famous investigator's training manual. He also created his own detective agency, Global Investigations, as well as this correspondence school, The Global School of Investigation.

In 1975 he became a certified law enforcement teacher by the Nevada Board of Education.

He continued both careers, working undercover in Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm, and returning a kidnapped child from Moscow, in 1999.

With his many TV appearances (ABC, NBC, CNN, etc.) as well as the subject of a best-selling novel, "The Honourable Schoolboy", by John LeCarre, his fame has lifted him from needed obscurity to the pinnacle of public recognition.

In a recent ABC-TV 20/20 interview he was asked when he plans to retire. His answer was pure Ciriello:

"Most people retire from work to do something they like. I have been honored and fortunate enough to do something I truly love. If I were to retire I guess I'd have to go to work! My trench coat may be torn and my dagger bent but I will continue to do what I have done, and loved, for as long as I can."

Ed Ciriello writes to prospective students of his private investigators course:

"I promise you the most practical, enjoyable, fact-filled learning experience of your life. And I will guide you every step of the way. Been there, done that. Maybe someday you will replace me and carry on my life's work. With my name on it, you know it has to be good."

    Dear All,

I have a only praise for the Global School of Investigation, because after taking their course I became a Private Investigator and Process Server in the UK and have had a good income.

Although being in England and the laws are different, basically the skills are universal.

I have called them on several occasions and they have always been very helpful and willing to give advice.

If anyone is considering taking a course on Investigation, the Global School of Investigation is the one.

Deepest respect to Ed Ciriello and all his staff.

    Yours sincerely,

    Paul de Ruyter

    Good Morning All,
I just started my course with Global School of Investigation, and let me tell you . . . very very informative, in alot of areas.

I also purchased the 12 lesson audio set.

The fun part is there are practical exercises to do at the end of ever chapter.

I highly recommend Global to anyone.

    A Big Thumbs Up!

I spoke to the owner and founder of Global School of Investigation, Mr. Ed Ciriello. On the basis of our conversation, the IPIU Board of Directors authorized an IPIU Guarantee (in addition to Ed's guarantee) of complete satisfaction. IPIU endorsed Ed's school a few years ago after our Legal Affairs department reviewed a copy of his course (which was loaned to us by one of his graduates).

In addition, union members may also apply for a financial grant offered by the union's Department of Education.

Hello Jimmie! Thanks for the question.

And, remember - you do not need a state issued PI License to perform about half of the assignments in your state as a Private Investigator. Go to our LICENSING FORUM for Private Investigators and review the state topic for the exemptions.

But, IPIU will help you get your state license and help you set up your own agency without any prior experience. As an IPIU union member with Level 4 Access, just go to the forum titled OBTAINING YOUR PRIVATE INVESTIGATORS LICENSE.

    All my best,

    Robert

    Hi Joyce,

Yes Preferred Union Members and Management Union Members can receive advanced training book discounts from 10% to 45% off, depending on the book or item.

But Global is a tuitional course, not a book.

Still, as a union member you can apply for a free IPIU Educational Cash Grant!

We have a copy of the manual in our office. It is 3-ring, but quite detailed with professional graphics. The online version is a pdf Adobe option for you to download and print on your own printer using 3-hole paper. For the extra $100, the manual version is worth it, plus there are some bonus items.

For union members, they can obtain a free CASH GRANT towards the purchase of the Global Course (typically $25 to $50 cash) that will reimburse a portion of what union members pay. No other source has this.

If you have the IPIU Manual, which is the basic 5 chapters, it is also printed using a high speed photocopier. But the quality should be crisp and clear. Photcopy is cheaper than printed versions when done in much smaller amounts of manuals, and allows qucik revisions. Global's quality is of the same high speed quality, but has additional graphics that the basic IPIU Manual does not.

    David,

Thank you for the reply... in my last message I made refernce to other course I have taken, which are similar to what Global offers, but related to other subject matter. When I say bad, that is an understatement. The captions below pictures were blurry and you couldn't read them.

If I am going to spend $ I want to be sure I am getting something of relatively decent to very good quality. I realize $ isn't all that much for an indepth course... but it is still $.

Again, thank you for your reply. I am seriously considering taking the Global course.

    Richard.

    Thank-you, David...
That's good to know. 1 - 2 months to complete the course seems to be very reasonable, especially considering what I'll be getting out of it...

    I can't wait. I should be receiving soon !

I LOVE keeping reference material around the house. (For instance: I didn't sell ANY of my college textbooks! )
I can add this course to the lot !

Thanks for the valuable information and endorsement of this company. I received an email notification from them just this morning. I had not heard of them before but now I know how to proceed for additional education.

Within 2 days of purchasing this course, I was able to my purchase.

I can tell you this: Being a "newbie" in the field, I feel SO much better now that I will have this information (from a "seasoned" veteran) at my disposal...

    I can't wait to get started !

    Great information.

    Hello everyone,
This is Schywanda. I just saw my email about Global school of Detectives. The one thing I want to know, Do I have to wait until I'm finished taking my test for the Union before I enroll in the Global School? I just received my manual so I'm not sure how this woks. I would love to go to school to get more and advanced education under my belt. I haven't post in awhile because of taking exams. I also would like to know, how do the Union help you to own your own PI agency without experience? Should we take cases first to see how we do and how investigations work before we decide to own our own?

Again, thank you for your reply. I am seriously considering taking the Global course.

    Richard.
Richard, both Global and IPIU's Department of Education offer a COMPLETE 100% Money-back guarantee if you return the materials, the entire manual, courses, video, and bonus - within a month!

This applies to the hard-paper version.

PLUS, union members can apply for a FREE CASH GRANT check after you graduate, which reduces the tuition!

    Answer: No.

You can enroll in Global at anytime. Their course will take a few months to complete. The IPIU Manual is a Short Course and can get you to work sooner.

All former Global Graduates can join IPIU and go to work right away. If they do not have a state PI License, then they can purchase the PI Union License for a one-time set up amount.

I have seen the Global website and have reviewed the information. I've been considering taking this course as well, but I have the same question as Alan: will people take it seriously? Pretty much all PI courses/diploma programs I have read about are online or correspondence courses. I haven't been able to find anything on-campus as of yet aside from a one week PI class (non credit bearing) at my college (John Jay in NYC). The whole Global thing seems worthwhile (especially since I found out that it is endorsed by IPIU), but I'd hate to shell out that much money just to have a prospective employer scoff at it later.

The Global Course, much like other well known courses, are very seldom "recognized" by state licensing boards (except the diploma will help you pass the state test and get you hired in some capacity).

But Global (and a few others) are recognized by agencies and employers when they are provided a syllabus of the course material, graduation diploma, and a third-party certification of on-the-job assignments that were successful based on the principles of the course.

There are also one thousand (1000+) advanced books, DVDs, and training materials available at the IPIU PI Book Store site. A book is worth what you get out of it. A book is worth more with a test (as IPIU provides in some selections). But even a good book overs little if the results of employing the skills taught in the book are not practiced in the field.

To simply say you are a union member of IPIU and a graduate of Global is incomplete (in my opinion). But combining what you learn with how you have practiced the skills with what you earned as a result of that practice - is a better endorsement of Global and IPIU than just collecting diplomas.

I TOTALLY agree with Stormy...this is WELL worth the money...I've already gotten through the first 5 lessons and I'm on to the next set of 5...

You can learn a lot from this course. Think about it: you probably spend more money on STARBUCKS coffee or fast food ! But this is TOTALLY worth the money because it's relevant to your P.I. work. And you can ALWAYS refer back to the lessons if you need to... Also, the instructor is a veteran P.I. with over 50 years of experience! What MORE could you possibly ask for??? He's "been there and done that" (i.e., experienced WAY beyond our years...) He's seen and done a lot of things and we can ALL benefit from his experiences through this course.

    Read this!

    MEET THE FOUNDER
Ed Ciriello, Intelligence Agent, Private Investigator, and Founder

Ed Ciriello writes to prospective students of his private investigators course :

"I promise you the most practical, enjoyable, fact-filled learning experience of your life. And I will guide you every step of the way. Been there, done that. Maybe someday you will replace me and carry on my life's work. With my name on it, you know it has to be good."

I took this course a few years ago, and had the opprotunity to talk with Mr.Ciriello on the phone. He is very down to earth and dosen't mind "bonehead" questions ( yes I did that, but if you don't ask you'll never know) but I gave him a few laughs

Anyway, this is a great course taught by someone who knows their stuff, and a resonable price.

I passed and received my certificate today. Lots of red tape to go through to take my state exam so I am working on getting that done and submitted now.
