    Process Server Income?

    Hello everyone,

In trying to break into the PI/PS field I have found a PI that is considering hiring me as a PS under his PI license.

I want to know how much someone makes on average for serving papers.

    Hi Jake,
I really don't have the answer for you, I know in my state they were talking about $35.00 but I haven't checked it out personally because I don't intend on going in that direction. This link might have an answer for you or at least tell you where to look, good luck.

    Jake,
It all depends are you going to be hired in on salary, Hourly, or by the serve? You must also find out if you are to use your auto. We bought a new car this year for our process server it has 60,000 miles on it to date. Gas at $3.29 at least 2 tanks a week thats $62.51 just in gas if you are on the paying end. So there is alot that has to be found out before you accept a process server position.

In mid Missouri The Sheriff's dept. get $20.00.If I go out of the county ,the atty. I work for pays extra as he has already learned, P.I.'s get the job done the 1st. time.
He has had 24 hrs. to serve papers before court and he knows were the only ones to get the job done.

Hey Steve. Why should your neighbor know? You have more time to serve process then the Law Enforcement personnel have. I don't see why you should worry about it.

    Re: Process Server Income?

I am fairly sure that if the Deputies or .... never had to serve any process again, they would be very happy. I have not talked with one that thought it was worth their time or that it was an integral part of law enforcement they trained for .
