    Saga of an Active PI

    Hi All-

Just wanted to give an update of whats been going on with me for past 4 months as have not been too active on here.

    1. I live in Florida--Treasure Coast area and was affected by both Hurrican Frances and Hurricane Jean.

    2. As a regular member of the Florida National Guard, I was called up in support of all 4 storms throughtout Florida for a duration of 2+ months.

    2. I am a full time workmans compensation investigator with Class Action, doing primarily south and central Florida.

    3. I am a Credit Agent doing demand letters from Credit Alliance part time.

    4. I am doing property insurance inspections for C and E Information Services part time.

    5. I am house finder affliated with a investment group that is buying hurricane damaged houses and get a $1500+ fee for every house bought.

    6. I am doing assignments found in the Private Investigator Forums listed here (with my Level 4 Access) and some mystery shops as well.

Needless to say, I enjoy keeping busy - but have to say that if you want to make money as a private investigator, you need to get out there and invest in doing the job and invest in the equipment as well as getting the most out of your experiences.

Good grief, Eugene! What do you do in your spare time??
(Like you have any!) Glad to have another Floridian here...I'm on the Left Coast. Please share some of your experiences with us.

BTW, thanks for being part of the Guard. Y'all were a BIG help during the storms.

Best wishes & good luck in all you do!

Greetings Eugene, nice to meet you, and I'm glad you shared your Testimony with us here as proof, that life gets better being a part of this great Union. I do admire the fact that you have all that experience, and that you're keeping very active and busy with your present Career.

I guess once you enjoy what you do everything else just falls into place, like Flexibility, deadlines, etc. or do you have a " to-do list " that you plan your day with?

Have a great day, and just like everyone else, would like to wish you continued Success.

I am glad that you are doing well, I have encountered all of the pessimism I can handle from friends and family. I will show them your success in rebuttal from now on.

    LOL... My thoughts exactly.

Hope the weather has been better for you both this month. Here in No. Calif. we have not seen the sun for...seems like months. The rain is much needed and is coming down in managable portions. Unlike other areas of this state. I tend to hybernate in the winter, so I need to force myself outside.

Just received my manual and I'm looking forward to getting started.
    Stay dry if possible,

I guarantee that if you sign up with about a dozen good firms that specialize in integrity investigations (mystery shopping), you will stay busy. Conduct the smaller cases while you are waiting on the bigger jobs.

Thumbs up Us "workaholics" have to stick together!

    Hello, Eugene, neighbor.
Wow! You're certainly a different kind of busy than I am, but it's all good! Thank you for all of your service during the storms and such. I'm pretty sure, if you're still in the Guard, that 2005 has been kind of busy (major understatement) for you also. You humble me, sir. I am aware of "Class Action" and KNOW it's a really good company! My very best wishes for continued success is being sent your way.

Good job Eugene. I feel one can never be too busy. I am the sort that has to be doing something or I feel that I'm not getting anything done. Keep up the hard work, it always pays off in the end for a job well done.

Mystery shopping (or Integrity Investigations) is how I found out about IPIU in the first place. I think it is a good way to start and the companies are always looking for shoppers.

    HI, Eugene,

Thanks for posting your list in life. Sometimes folks complain about not having enough work as a PI, but as I understand, it takes time. Any new business needs to be built up.

Other jobs help you get contacts also. I haven't even started assignments yet, but everyone who asks about my line of work is anxious to hire a PI for something or other. Opportunity knocks a lot. You just have to keep your headphones off and listen.

Oh, Thanks for your service to us in the Guard. It was a great comfort having them here after the storms.

Funny story: I was sort of in the zone the other day and I actually began to stop at a green light!!!

Since you are right down the road from me, may I email you and see if I can do a ride-along sometime?

    Bye now, Valerie

Re: Saga of an Active PI

    Hi there,
I have just signed up for the IPIU and have an MS in Criminal Justice. I wanted to write to you after learning that your location is in Fl. I have lived there for 4 yrs in my past but am now here in California.

What kind of assignments have you got from the IPIU and what was the pay rate? If you don't mind my asking. I just want to get a feel for the field in case I do some work in Fl.

    thanks,
    Summer
