    Henri-Pierre,

The person who interviewed me had gone through all the resumes and he loved that fact that I already had a membership with IPIU and had done some (although few at the time) assignments. I was lucky he had eagle eyes in sifting out qualities he though would compliment his objectives.

Putting my IPIU Membership information on my resume was such a good move for me even if I had not completed one assignement.

    Brodies,

Add the fact that you have a membership with IPIU to your resume, along with general topics of your assignments and "you" keep it updated. As you begin networking with local attorneys, the public and referral groups you will have it to pass out when they look to you for your services.

Talking Another benefit to updating your resume....

is that you may not get the job you initially sent your resume for.....but networking pays off.....and if the hiring manager has "heard" of a job that opened up with the qualifications you have listed....you name and/or resume may get passed along without any effort on your part

Every little bit helps !! Minta

...and you are simply marketing yourself and the skills you have acquired.

    $2/hour raise

I was given a quick call and an interview with the hiring manager who happened to mention that "my resume stuck out". I prompted him for what it was that caught his eye. He said he noticed the IPIU referred assignments I had included in my resume, and he wanted to know if I was still available for work.

He offered me the regular pay, PLUS an additional $2 more per hour.

That extra $2 per hour (for just one monthly check alone) more than pays for my entire IPIU yearly membership!

Take it from me, the International Private Investigators Union will pay off for you too!

Thanks for the information, those of us that are starting new will benefit from it. Thank you again, Robert Santos.

    stated membership training and exam

    Hi Susan
Thank you for your imformation about the interview, and stating your association with the IPIU membership and its training and exam.

I found a PI job announcement in the paper, and with no experiance, wondered how to apply myself for a resume. Thanks to you,I have a plan of attack. David A. Kish [Q
    UOTE=Susan Yee]Eloisa,
I am happy for you; you must be on Cloud 9!!

Can you elaborate more about . . . [Edited: Level 4 forum questions]

Lastly, I agree with you totally about including a "COMMENT" about being an IPIU associate. I had an interview this week and the firm was quite impressed when I stated I completed training and exam with the International Private Investigators Union IPIU ... so we keep learning from each other.

    All my best,
    Susan[/QUOTE]

    Thank you!

Always an important thing to keep your resume updated with your current information. I was just thinking about this the other day. I added the IPIU under my Honors and activities section. This could speak volumes once I get started. Thanks to all for the helpful information as us new folks read the various forums.

That's a great idea Nicole. I hadn't thought of that at all. I will certainly be making an addition to my resume now.

    Thanks!

What are the IPIU referred assignments and how does one get one? I am a newcomer and am very lost.

Why don’t why I don’t have access to a lot of informational forums? I have no access to any forums other then new assignments? Please give me access to everything that should be available to a licensed PI.
