    Hello,
I would be interested in international law. I am originally from Germany, therefore I am bilingual and would love to work in the USA as well as abroad. Thanks for any input on this.

    Working overseas

    Hello,
I am interested in working overseas. I have spent a few years living in different geographic locations. What I want to know is, are there any opportunities for assignments abroad? If someone could point me in the right direction it would be great.

    Thank you - Richard

I haven't seen any information on the requirements for carrying a firearm overseas as a PI. Am I looking in the wrong place or does anyone have any information on this they would be willing to share? Thank you in advance, Mike

    Darren Tynan

    Hello Mike
My name is Darren Tynan I am a private investigator from the UK. According to the british rule is that PIs are not allowed to carry guns of any kind, because I already enquired in the british police station in my area. I do no that you can have a gun in Spain.

I hope that the information was of use

You should go to, or directly contact the authorities in the area, Country, State, ECT. that you are considering carrying a weapon in. Everyplace has different laws governing weapons, and hearsay can get you in a bind very quick.

You can forget all about carrying a gun in Japan. Even citizens can't, in fact, they acn't even own handguns.

No, Wolfgang, not yet... IPIU is looking to open up more internationally in the future though, I know that. It all takes time, you know. Be patient, the answer will come. See you in the forums.

Every one is asking of firearm requirements for out of state usage and ect. I have to agree the only way to find out accurate info is to go to the authorities.Or the Local Library may have some of the information on who to contact/a book containing this information.

    Wink International Licensing

I am an Australian living in Florida. I was checking out PI licensing in Aus the other day, seems all you need to do is complete the Certificate 111 course. For an agency license ther's a Certificate 1V course. Both of these are available on line.

    To all:

This topic is for International Licensing Laws outside of the USA and Canada.

For USA and Canada, go to the LICENSING LAWS: Private Investigators Forum and click on your state or province topic.

    To Whom It May Concern,

I am inquiring to anyone who knows, what do I need to do, to obtain work with the US government but maintain my position here? Also, what type of work is available for this type of arrangement?

    Thank you

I am from Indiana and can tell anyone looking at carrying from out of state that, as long as your permit is valid from your home state and you let the state police know, Indiana will honor your permit.

As far as international liscensing laws, I do not have any information, however was wondering if anyone does. I am interested art theft and was hoping to possibly work a little overseas (as well as the opportunity tour). If anyone has any information regarding whether or not Indiana requires a liscense if I have an IPIU credential?
