Some folks are new to the internet.

Here's an example of an email we received:

"IS this my passcode@ipiu.org
I am new on learning computer, info"

Our Answer:

STEP ONE:
To get a password at our web site you need to have
an email account set up somewhere. If you have local
internet access for your computer, the company you
are paying each month will give you a free email
account and email box.

If you are borrowing someone's computer, then you
need to go to a public web site to get a free email
account, such as www.yahoo.com

Once you set up your email at Yahoo, then you have
your own separate email account.

STEP 2:
From your email box, address an email to passcode@ipiu.org

STEP 3:
In the Subject area of your letter, type "I need
Passcode Instructions".

STEP 4:
In the body of your letter, type your name.

STEP 5:
Send the email.

STEP 6:
Wait 5 minutes, and check your email box for New Mail.
You will see a new email from "Private Investigators
Forum". Open the email and follow the instructions
to get your password assigned to you.

And, if anyone needs personal help, they can email us for the telephone number of a national support group.

I like the new automatic email for free instructions. When I first egistered, I had to wait a few days. Now it's instant.

Hey Tanga, welcome to the forums.
This was the best way I learned how to work the forums. At the top right hand of the pages you will see f.a.q. button. You can learn a whole lot here.

To answer your question about Restricted areas.

The forumTest Your Forum Writing Skills and above are for forum members. The forums below the above mentioned forum is Resticted to IPIU members only. This is probably the reason you are unable to get into them.
I have only been on here for a short time and have learned a lot from these forums.I learned the most on how to work these forums from the info provided in the f.a.q. section. Everyone here is so helpful and these forums are layed out perfect for learning. If you have any questions please feel free to email me( you may have to go thru administration ) and I will help you all I can. If you ask a question it will get answered. I have had help on here from day one. They will not let you down.

I'll keep my
http://216.40.241.68/contrib/sarge/Eye_anim.gifhttp://216.40.241.68/contrib/sarge/Eye_anim.gif 's on you. To see how things are going. I hope I was some help?

Thanks, Joe
I know it's a process to be effectively learn the forums. And I must say that I appreciate the support from all who are participating in the forum, for without YOU EXPERIENCED INDIVIDUALS, a person like me will constantly go through the "pulling out the hair" syndrome. I'm not giving up because I have a strong desire to make a career of Private Investigations. Again, thanks, Joe. And thanks to all who will lend their support and expertise.

I just found that you have registered under three (3) user names on the forums:

1) Tanga Payne
2) Tanga R Payne
3) Tanga R. Payne

You can only have one (1) user name, and we have deleted the first two (1 & 2). So please use Tanga R. Payne as your user name.

If you are granted a higher level access, it will be under the user name of Tanga R. Payne and nothing else.

Your Tanga R. Payne user name has an AOL email address, while one of the others has an MSN email address. You can only use one email to receive notifications and assignments.

There is a topic on obtaining a Yahoo email address because AOL email addresses have problems. You may wish to use the search key and find the Yahoo topic.

I have found that the best thing to do for a private email account is to find an ISP (other than AOL) who will give you multiple email addresses. Then you can create one say for here and do not use it for anything else. You might then have to setup your email client with this nes address but that is not difficult.

I am on a DSL connectionm and my ISP allows 10 email addresses so I set up one just for use at IPIU.

You should check on the ISP's policy on publication of email addresses. I know that with yahoo, hotmail, AOL and MSN it won't take long before you start getting SPAM.

Is not the password and passcode the same thing? If not I don't have a passcode. I'm a level 4 and there are some forum that I
have not been able to get into.

Yes, password and passcode are the same.

As for your Level 4 access, all of the areas are open to you that are listed in your Level 4 Instructions link that was posted to your personal introduction topic. However, there are some other private forums that are only for IPIU moderators and administrators, etc.
