Update:
In a recent topic posted in the Mystery, Puzzle Forum, a member asked a question: What came first? (the chicken or the egg?)
The topic has since been edited to conform with the rules, and the rules have been edited for more clarity.
However, I found that some new forum members, regular forum members, Sr. Forum Members, Moderators, and Sr. Moderators all participated in posting replies to the topic in a manner that would promote OFF-TOPIC DISCUSSION of the topic's author original intention. With that in mind:
a) OFF-TOPIC replies is prohibited (Rule #5), as it has a tendency to hijack the author's original topic theme into a different discussion altogether.
Moderators are to edit or post off-topic violations with the artwork image of http://www.ipiu.org/images/web/offtopic.gif
b) Moderators and Sr. Moderators are preapproved to MOVE any topic at any time that has a disruptive theme to it. In this case, one Sr. Moderator chose to CLOSE the topic before it became disruptive. As a result, MANY emails were sent privately to Administration with apologies to the staff for their comments that may have led to another member possibly being offended. Without naming names, the emails are VERY appreciative and the Private Investigators Forums (at large) remains one of the most respectful Internet Forums in the world. (See the Testimonial Forum for other positive comments)
c) We will never discourage anyone from posting their personal belief, as long as it conforms with Rule # 4 and #5.
d) In the future, we may very well have a Level 4 Access area that contains private forums that "discuss" both sexual and religious and political beliefs, so long as everyone is respectful to other opinions and beliefs. The staff believes that Level 4 members, who have already signed their Code of Ethics, have the ability to discuss these issues without offending others, but the staff needs to author the guidelines first.
e) Members who read any topic or any Reply that they feel is leaning toward disrespect for another member can always click on the link below the comment titled Report any disrespectful comments to the Moderator . That click will trigger a FAST response for the staff to review the topic. However, it does not necessarily mean that the comment will be edited or removed. But it will guarantee we are aware of it, and will at least monitor the comments before they get out of hand.
f) As one Sr. Member stated in the past,
"I consider this forum as an invitation to visit someone's personal home as an invited guest. And as a "guest" I would never contribute anything to a discussion that would possibly offend any other guest in my host's home. Otherwise, it would be as if I were peeing on their carpet." :(
g) Now comes your challenge: How can you best convey your respect and your tone and your earnest regard to other forum members in an electronic media known as the Internet? Unlike the above quote of an invited guest where everyone can hear and see the intentions of others, the forums can be challenge to convey your heart of the matter.
Answer #1: Learn the use of the forum software to it's fullest provisions. Learn how and when to post smiles :), frowns :(, winks ;), grins :D, italics, and quotes. This answer may not be perfect, bit it helps. Send an email to tutor@ipiu.org for automated links to the software tips.
Answer #2: Visit the Test Your Forum Writing Skills on this Forum (http://www.ipiu.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&forumid=10)
Answer #3: If you have a doubt in making a comment, don't be so fast in posting it. Sleep on it. :)

I personally think that our personal opinions about sex and or religion should be kept just that, personal and not be meantioned in a open forum, after all we are supposed to conduct ourselves as professionals. Code of ethices.
