If you have changed your email address, or location, and wish to upgrade your forum User Name email address that we have on file for you:
Go to the top of this page (or any forum page) and look for the small button titled SETTINGS (http://www.ipiu.org/forums/usercp.php), which is your User CP (User Control Panel).
Or go here: http://www.ipiu.org/forums/usercp.php
Once you click on the USER CP button, the system may prompt you to enter your User Name and Password.
Then it will take you to your profile pages and tabs.
Explore the various options:
My Profile
Edit Profile
Edit Profile Picture
Edit Signature
Edit Email & Password
Then change your current email to your new email in both fields.
The scroll down to the bottom and click on the button titled SAVE CHANGES.
You may be prompted to CONFIRM YOUR NEW EMAIL or PASSWORD by going to your new and old email box and carefully read the email notice.
Also, you can change your password in your Profile. The password you were assigned may be hard to remember. So change it! Remember, though, a confirming email may be sent . . . and sometimes you may have to click on a certain line in that confirming email to tell the system it was really you.

Christa,
If you have ICQ then you enter your number in the user cp section if you want to.
It is a number that is provided to you on ICQ.com if you sign up. It is something like YIM and AIM.

Gulam,
I'll answer your question on ICQ. ICQ is chatting client you down load. It is something like Yahoo Instant Messanger or AIM AOL Instant Messanger. ICQ is something like that. ICQ issues you a unique number that is yours to use. An Example. If I had ICQ and I wanted to get talk to you on that I need your ICQ number in order for me to message you.
Hope this helps.
If you want more info go to http://www.icq.com.

James,
You don't need a ICQ number if you don't have one. It is something for memebers who has ICQ. :) Like you said it's an added bonus ;)

There are security and privacy flaws with the use of ICQ, which is why IPIU does not recommend it.

Thanks, Mr. Copeland. I believe I'll steer away from that!

If I may add something to these instructions if you do not mind:
If you change your Email Address in your User Profile, be sure it is a valid email address where you will be able to receive emails from IPIU...
The Forum Software that IPIU uses here will send you an email with a link for you to verify your new email address. Be sure to follow this link by clicking on it and your new settings will be activated and stored...

David,
I have a hotmail address, do you suggest I change it to a yahoo one? I am not having any problems receiving emails from IPIU or sending emails to IPIU. However, IPIU always recommend a yahoo address. So, should I change it?
Thank you. :)

Hi everyone!
I am not sure about changing my email address and would like a little clarification. I have one at home and I also have one at yahoo for the purpose of IPIU contacts. Which one should be used in the user profile? Should I keep the one at home my contact strictly from the forums and IPIU and Yahoo for all contacts or referrals? How would this be done? I did not see a listing for 2 seperate emails. I also did not see any place to put a fax number for the purpose of contacts. Could someone please explain this to me?
Thanks for you help.

Hi RoseAnn,
You can do either, you can use you home e-mail for IPIU and the yahoo for contacts or you can use yahoo for both IPIU and the contacts.
Just make sure the one you want IPIU to use in your profile.
As for your fax number you can send an e-mail to usa@ipiu.org and give them your fax no. When your filling out applications for contacts they will have a place in there for you to put your fax number, e-mail and all your other info.
I hope this helps!
Have a great night!:)

Thank you, Becky, for the clarification. It was a little ambiguous. What I did read was that they were two different databases. One for any contacts or information regarding threads(which I will be using Yahoo for security reasons), and the other was listed with IPIU when I first signed up. Is my understanding correct?
I did contact IPIU with my current Fax number through Faxwave.
Thanks for your reply.
:)

Hi RoseAnn,
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you.
I'm not real sure about two databases. I do know that IPIU will send all e-mails to the one you provide in your profile. You will find this by clicking on the http://www.ipiu.org/forums//images/top_profile.gif at the top of each page.
What I do is I use my primary e-mail for IPIU threads and when I sign up with agency's, I give them my Yahoo e-mail address.
Most people find it easier to use Yahoo for both. If you do decide to use Yahoo for everything just make sure that's the address you put in your profile.
If you still have questions just let me know.
Have a great night!:)

Thanks for your comment regarding ICQ. I was just about to download it until I read your comment stating that it is not
recommended because of the security and privacy flaws.
Again, thanks.

Hi Tech Support/Admin.
I have already changed all of my information with your office, but my location onthe forum itself still reads California. However, I moved to Michigan several weeks ago. Is it possible for your office to change my location under my name on the forums?
Thanks!

Aloha Alexandria,
You may change this on your own. Go to the top of the forum and click on User CP and under the left hand side you will see Control Panel then click on Edit Profile. This is where you can update your location.

Administrator,
According to your instructions you state:
[Go to the top of this page (or any forum page)
and look for the small button titled USER CP , which means User Control Panel.
I dont see the USER CP, but I am able to access the ability to change my email through the settings tab. I realize this post was created many years ago and the system might have changed but just so there is no confusion, is this the proper way to change or edit ones email address?
I dont want to come off petty but I want to make sure I am doing things correctly.
