When registering with this website forum, first name & last name was required. No first name initial is allowed. (http://www.ipiu.org/forums/register.php) . However, I have seen many individuals with a First Name initial with a last name in forums. What is the reason for this?
Also, where exactly can I find the Private Investigator Forums Privacy Statement
Thank You

Our forum software was under development for years, and at first we only required a first initial and last name. Then as the software was upgraded and more members joined with the name first initial and last name..... we began modifying the policy to now include a full first and last name. Many Forum Members are also union members of IPIU, and it makes it easier to help them as a forum member when we can match their IPIU records.
The earlier forum members with initials only will be changed as they return to our site. We monitor every day Forum Members who visit our site...., and if we notice they need an upgrade in their User Name, we edit it and then send them a private email with their new User Name. I suspect the earlier names you are seeing have not visited us in recent times.
And the second reason for the first and last name is to prevent users from registering under a false Forum Membership and using multiple accounts. This site has never been advertised to the majority of IPIU's 16,000 members worldwide because we are still training much needed Forum Guides and Moderators to handle the rush. As our Agent Director has said:
"If a Wal-Mart in the United States were to advertise a grand opening, they better be sure they have more than one cashier and one checkout stand. Otherwise the thousands of daily visitors would over flood the resources and cause complaints of poor service"
We have moderators and forum guides, but we need about eighty (80) in the long run. And with that many forum members, we want to insure that their conduct is respectful and above board. Besides, all forum members have the opportunity to respond via private email any agency assignment and client referral opportunities. And the agency and client need to know that forum member's name is authentic.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Sometime back our website server crashed and we restored the data from a backup. But the Privacy Statement link was disconnected. I have restored it, and if you return to the link you posted and try it now, you will be redirected to the proper destination.
And last, welcome to the board!
