S  I recently applied for a processs server license in the state of Texas you have to mail off your fingerprints to the DPS and when the District clerk receives them you're granted an I.D card stating said title. But I got a letter from the district clerk stating cause I have an 20 year old misdemeanor charge I have to get a lawyer, make that two lawyers to give me a letter of recommendation, and an letter of explanation, for a 20 year old class "c" offense. It put a road block in all my career plans because I don't know any lawyers to give me those letters. Need Help. I didn't know a person would go thru this kind of problem

The first thing I would do if I were you, is to get a copy of your record up to date, your resume, your driving record, college transcripts, any character references, and lists of all your community or personal accomplishments. Then I would try to find a lawyer in the phone book that offers free first consultations. Bring all this with you to help your request for a recommendation. They may be able to direct you if they can't help. Being prepared with the information up-front will show your sincerety and give them something to work with.
I am unfamiliar with this territory, but that is what I would do to start. It may at least point you in the right direction. I'm sure someone will come along soon and offer suggestions better than this. But until then, you could try it! :)
